About the Role

Upon Joining us as a Registered Manager at Sanctuary Homes the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-today running of a Registered Children’s home.
As the Registered Manager you will be accountable for the provisions of each of the young resident’s overall care,
working closely in accordance with their agreed objectives, standards, policies, and procedures, implementing and
overseeing their overall care plan.
This is a senior management role, and the successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of professionalism,
competence, and leadership at all times, being able to confidently represent the organisation in a wide range of
professional settings is a key skill the successful applicant must have.
Working both within a team and as an individual will be key in achieving the objectives within this role, so being a
team player and a self-starter is another important quality we are looking for within a potential candidate.
This role would suit a strong communicator who has the ability to adapt in different situations, whilst confidently able
to demonstrate assertiveness and calmness in a professional manner.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the effective and efficient management of the children’s care home.
  • Committed to providing an excellent level of therapeutic care for the young people.
  • Responsible for the management and supervision of the Deputy Manager(s), Team Leaders and
    Residential Support Worker team and any ad/hoc ancillary staff.
  • Contribute to the referral assessment process of young people, conducting relevant assessments,
    matching placement offers and planned admissions to the home.
  • Rota Management ensuring there is sufficient staff coverage at times.
  • Managing quality reviews and inspections, including those conducted by the Regulation 44 inspector,
    local authority Quality Assurance officers and Ofsted/CQC.
  • Ensure all relevant notifications involving young persons are made in line with statutory and Company
    requirements and policies – such as Schedule 5 reporting, incident reporting etc.
  • Ensure that all young people receive the correct medical, dental and any other treatments and care
    appropriate to their needs, which will be kept under continuous regular and planned review.
  • Comply at all times with statutory legislation requirements such as – Quality Standards, Children’s Homes
    Regulations etc.

Experience and & Qualifications

  • At least 2/3 years’ experience as a Registered Manager.
  • NVQ Level 5 Children & Young People / Diploma Level 5 Leadership & Management is essential.
  • Experience of working with children & young people with Complex Health & Mental needing in a
    residential setting.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • A full clean driving Licence is preferable however not essential.
